Letter to Clients
Dear Client,
This letter is to inform you of my RRSP management business which not only complements my current tax practice but, more importantly, it helps people like you get out of the “stock market roller coaster ride” that we have all experienced for far too long.
While having worked in public accounting for the past 30 years, I also spent 15 years working with Dundee Securities as an investment broker and financial planner as well as working with Dundee Mortgages as a mortgage agent. Working in these different, but related fields, gives me a unique perspective on people’s investment options and how it fits into their financial planning needs. The stock market crash in 2008 gave us all a wakeup call in regards to our reliance on financial instruments such as mutual funds, stocks and non-government bonds in order to achieve our financial planning goals. Given my insight into the stock market and related activities, I for one, have lost faith in utilizing the stock market as a primary tool for your financial planning needs. People continue to risk their money in the stock markets and put up with its volatility simply because the people who promote mutual funds, stocks and bonds are being paid very well to promote these products and to ensure you remain invested in these types of products in order for their parent companies to collect management fees on your financial assets.
I am here to breathe some fresh air into your investment choices. My RRSP management business consists of 2 services; 1) I help people lend out the money they currently have in RRSPS, or money outside of RRSPs, and invest this money into good solid residential and commercial mortgages which generate a constant monthly return of between 5% to 15% on an annual basis (I help you find these mortgages and I work with you to do the necessary due diligence to ensure the viability of these mortgages).
The second service I provide is to help you use your RRSP money to buy good quality residential rental income properties which produce monthly rental revenue. Both of these services are facilitated by utilizing your local TD Canada Trust bank as the trustee of your RRSP and I truly believe these 2 services will allow people better investment choices compared to staying invested in the stock market which, in my opinion, will continue going up and down with ongoing volatility and risk. Please don’t misinterpret my message, I’m not saying you can’t make money in the stock market, in fact great opportunities exist there, it’s just that most people are uninformed about the volatility and risk that exists trying to access these opportunities and turning them into the financial gains they want to see on the monthly reports explaining how their investments are doing.
My point is simply that there are alternatives to the volatility and risk of the stock markets, that being investing in good quality first and/or second mortgages. Accordingly, if you wish further discussions on how I can help you manage your RRSPS, or any money that you may have outside of your RRSPs, I invite you to contact me to set up a meeting so I can provide you with more information in this regard. For those of you who enjoy picking your own stocks, and have experience doing this, I can help you manage your RRSPs in that you can pick the stocks and I’ll try to find some quality mortgages for your consideration (in this scenario we both manage your RRSP and, admittedly, this services is becoming very popular with many clients).
At this time I would like to thank you very much for the business you have provided me in the past, and I look forward to helping you take the “stock market roller coaster ride” out of your investments and work with you to generate some good quality returns through mortgage lending and real estate ownership.
Regards,
Gerry J. Hogenhout, CGA, CFP, AMP
