Gerry J. Hogenhout, CGA, CFP, AMP
Gerry is a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, an association of professional accountants who have met the requirements of professional competency and are bound to a uniform standard of conduct. Gerry’s background encompasses extensive experience in public accounting including two years with Johnson and Booth, Chartered Accountants in Orangeville, seven years with Deloitte and Touche, Chartered Accountants in Toronto and three years with Sidler and Company, Chartered Accountants in Mississauga. Gerry is actively involved with the Toronto Chapter of the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario, which ensures members in public practice are up-to-date on all current personal and corporate income tax legislation. Furthermore, Gerry is the author of numerous tax and investment editorials distributed by various newspaper publications, as well as within the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada.

During his years in public accounting, Gerry observed that most Canadians use tax specialists to prepare their personal and corporate income tax returns while using financial planners to assist them with investment planning. Gerry concluded that, instead of using two different companies for these interrelated services, his clients’ overall financial situation would be better served by having both services offered “under one roof”. Accordingly, Gerry expanded into the area of investment planning, became registered as a Financial Advisor (or Certified Financial Planner) and completed the necessary educational and training standards established by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada, a licensing requirement governed by the Ontario Securities Commission. In addition to this, Gerry completed the Certified Financial Planner course and is now entitled to use the CFP designation.

To further expand the areas of service, Gerry completed the necessary licensing and education requirements established by the Canadian Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders.
